Diptanu is a passionate vocalist whose music reflects both her roots and her journey. Trained in Hindustani Classical Music and shaped by experiences living in both India and the United States, she brings together the depth of traditional Indian ragas with the vibrancy of modern global influences.
Her musical path began at the age of six, when she started training at the renowned Saptak School of Music in Ahmedabad, under the guidance of Dr. Nalini Mishra, in the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara style. With her father’s encouragement, she also pursued formal classical education and completed her Visharad from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, building both deep-rooted artistry and academic discipline.
She later continued her training with Smt. Anuradha Kuber, and is currently receiving advanced guidance from the eminent Ustad Arshad Ali Khan of the Kirana Gharana — a lineage known for its soulful depth and melodic purity.
While Hindustani Classical Music remains her foundation and foremost passion, Diptanu’s creative exploration extends to singing Hindi, Bengali, and English cover songs, and writing and composing her own original music. Her work carries a unique voice — one that weaves classical emotion into modern soundscapes.
As a dedicated teacher of Hindustani Classical vocal music, she shares her knowledge with aspiring students, aiming to inspire the next generation and contribute meaningfully to society through music. For her, music is not only a personal pursuit, but a responsibility to preserve and pass on.
